What Is AquaSort?

AquaSort is a browser-based water sort puzzle: each bottle holds up to four units of colored liquid, often mixed across several colors, and your goal is to pour liquid between bottles until each one holds only a single color (or is empty). Every level in AquaSort is generated and verified as solvable before you play it, so there's always a path to a solution. It's free to play with no download, signup, or login required, and includes hints, undo, stars, coins, and four visual themes.

How to Play AquaSort

  1. Tap a bottle to select it as your pour source — it lifts and tilts.
  2. Tap another bottle to pour the top color into it.
  3. A pour is only legal if the destination bottle is empty or its top layer matches the color you're pouring.
  4. Consecutive layers of the same color at the top of a bottle pour together automatically in a single move.
  5. An illegal pour attempt is rejected with a shake — no liquid moves and no move is used.
  6. A bottle counts as solved once it's either empty or completely full of one color.
  7. Clear every bottle on the board to win the level.

Scoring & Rewards

Each level has a "par" move count based on how many colors it contains. Finishing at or under par earns 3 stars, finishing under 1.5x par earns 2 stars, and any completion earns at least 1 star. Coins are awarded on every win, scaled by your level number and star rating, and can be spent on extra Hints or extra Bottles once your free uses run out.

Strategy Tips

1. Protect an empty bottle

Try to keep at least one bottle empty for as long as possible — it acts as temporary storage while you untangle mixed bottles, and losing your last empty bottle early can lock you out of good moves.

2. Prioritize full clears

When you have a choice, favor a pour that completely empties a bottle over one that only partially clears it — an empty bottle is more useful than a mostly-empty one.

3. Work on the most mixed bottles first

Bottles with several different colors stacked up are usually the bottleneck. Untangling them early, even with a few "wasted" moves, tends to open up the rest of the board.

4. Use Hint sparingly, save +Bottle for hard levels

Hint is best used when you're truly stuck rather than every move. Save +Bottle for later, larger levels with more colors, where an extra empty bottle makes the biggest difference.
