What Is Bloxdoku?

Bloxdoku is a browser-based puzzle game that combines two familiar mechanics: dragging block pieces onto a grid (like classic block puzzle games) and clearing sudoku-style 3x3 boxes in addition to full rows and columns. The board is a 9x9 grid split into nine 3x3 boxes, and your goal is to keep it as clear as possible for as long as you can, scoring points along the way. It's free to play in your browser with no download, signup, or login required.

How to Play Bloxdoku

1. Drag a piece from the tray at the bottom of the screen onto the 9x9 grid.
2. As you drag, cells glow green where the piece fits and red where it doesn't.
3. Release to drop the piece into a valid spot on the board.
4. Fill any full row, column, or 3x3 box completely to clear it and score points.
5. Chain multiple line clears at once, or clear on back-to-back placements, to build up a combo bonus.
6. You always have three pieces in your tray. When all three are placed, a fresh set of three appears.
7. The game ends when none of your current tray pieces can fit anywhere on the board.

Scoring & Combos

Bloxdoku rewards both placement and clearing:

• Placement points: you earn 1 point for every block cell you place on the grid.
• Clear bonus: clearing a row, column, or box awards bonus points based on how many cells were cleared.
• Multi-line bonus: clearing more than one line or box in a single move adds an extra bonus on top.
• Combo streak: clearing something on consecutive placements builds a combo multiplier, so chaining clears back-to-back is the fastest way to rack up a high score.

Strategy Tips

1. Avoid isolated single-cell gaps

A single empty cell surrounded by filled cells can only be filled by a 1x1 piece, which isn't guaranteed to appear. Plan placements to keep open space in usable shapes.

2. Prioritize 3x3 boxes

Because boxes clear independently of rows and columns, working on filling a 3x3 box early gives you another way to clear cells even if a full row or column isn't close.

3. Save flexible pieces for later

Small 1x1, 1x2, and 1x3 pieces are the most flexible. If you get one early, consider using bigger pieces first and holding the small one for a tight spot later.

4. Chase combos, not just clears

A single clear is good, but clearing on consecutive turns multiplies your score far faster than clearing occasionally in isolation.
